The Information and Communication Technology Officers will be responsible for the management of information and telecommunications systems through development and maintenance of ICT systems to ensure that the Commission leverages in technology for ef
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages design, development and administration of applications and systems, physical or virtual hardware devices, operating systems, monitoring services and directory services for user administration;
- Coordinates automation of systems and processes;
- Monitors and evaluates performance of ICT systems, and take corrective action where necessary;
- Oversees the development of technical specifications for hardware and software;
- Manages ICT systems to ensure they comply with regulatory and legal requirements;
- Monitors and evaluates performance of staff under him/her;
- Mentors and coach staff under him/her;
- Manages implementations of decisions made in departmental Meetings
- Prepares draft annual ICT Work plan and budget;
- Implements the ICT strategic plan and work plan;
- Coordinates deployment of systems including training of users;
- Implements contracts and service level agreements for provision of ICT goods and services;
- Undertakes research on best ICT practices and relevant emerging technologies in order to facilitate adoption for use by the Commission;
- Drafts procedures and guidelines for efficient and effective use of ICT systems in the Commission;
- Designs and coordinates the implementation of corporate ICT projects, including planning, scheduling, managing and progress reporting for new system implementations.
