Job Purpose / Executive Summary
Accreditation officers are responsible for managing the accreditation process of universities and specialized degree awarding institutions and academic programmes in these institutions
Duties and Responsibilities:
- advise on establishment of universities, campuses and colleges
- evaluate proposals for establishment of institutions
- coordinate components of accreditation activities undertaken by other departments
- carry out technical evaluation of the various types of institutions applying for accreditation
- capacity building of peer reviewers on institutional accreditation mechanisms
- advise the Commission on readiness of institutions for accreditation
- monitor, undertake regular inspections and assure compliance to the Act, Regulations and Standards for institutions under transition, constituent colleges and campuses
- develop and review universities regulations, standards and guidelines for institutional accreditation
